Gabriel de la Torre, also known as EO: Protosynthetic Amalgamate!, is a multimedia artist whose work spans experimental sound, painting, and installation. de la Torre was born in 1999 in New Jersey but has spent most of his life traveling between Ecuador, Spain, and different parts of the United States. He has earned multiple awards during his time at Drew University and his study abroad at SACI Florence such as the Elizabeth P. Korn Scholarship for Exceptional Potential in the Arts. EO’s work has been featured in several student exhibitions at the Korn Gallery in Madison, New Jersey. His multimedia work and oil paintings explore generational anxieties and collective experiences by anthropomorphizing them with an aggressive visual and sonic language. de la Torre received his B.A. in Studio Art at Drew University May of 2022 and was a part of the Senior Studio Exhibition that same month. After college he has worked with different artists such as Luis Felipe Ortega as a studio assistant and done art handling at the University Gallery in the University of Florida.
